Brandon Smith
Brandon and I actually met at the very same time I met his mother, which is a bit awkward sounding, but it wasn’t! I was visiting my friend Joey at his place of employment and Brandon was there with his Mom. Joey was currently looking for a roommate and that was the day he got Brandon to move in with him! They ended up living directly across the hall from me and we became neighbors!

Brandon used to play drums in a band I was in called Fairview and he’s currently part of an improv comedy sketch group called Geezdood Comedy. Brandon is also looking for a band, so if you need a drummer let me know!

Chad McDonald
Chad McDonald was one of the first friends I made after I moved from Stockbridge High to Eagle’s Landing. We met in art class and I remember this because he was absolutely in love with this green bubble jacket that he wore every day! A few months after that Chad joined my old band Style Over Substance and played guitar. He was in the band for a few years before he quit and moved on to other things. I lost touch with Chad for a while, but thanks to some bad life experiences this past year or so we have reconnected at Avalon. I consider him one of my best friends without a doubt.

Chad is currently the Web/Graphic/Video department at Avalon Church and is an amazing father/husband to his two kids and his wife, Katrina.

Jason Perez
Jason Perez and I don’t really have a funny story of how we met. I remember him fronting the band 3 Deep at a Metro Heights show, he played bass and I remember he had braces (which is funny because now I have braces). I ended up designing some horrible website for them, I think it looked like a bumble bee! Anyway, we knew each other from playing in different bands and playing a few shows together over the years. We might actually end up as roommates in the near future, which is awesome because he is slowly becoming one of my best friends.

Jason’s most successful band was The Sophomore Year who released a full length album on Search & Rescue and yours truly designed the artwork. He’s currently living in Atlanta and playing in my current band Like Thieves.

Jimmy Newton
Jimmy Newton and I met about 5 years ago when he moved into the apartment next to mine with our friend Kyle Brown. After about a week we were already pretty good friends. I used to record a lot of songs on my iMac in Garageband and after recording all the guitar and programming all the drums I didn’t feel like recording anymore, which was great because Jimmy got to write and record all the bass. He’s one of the few people I would trust to play bass on my songs and I’m extremely excited about him helping out with the project!

Jimmy’s currently band-less but his last band was Tokyo Knuckles so check them out if you like hardcore. Oh and if you’re looking for an amazing bass player let me know and I’ll get you in contact with him.

Mark Uhl
Mark Uhl and I have been friends since High School by the way of the skateboard. We both skated a lot back in the day and were in different bands. I was getting into web design and helped a few of his up-and-coming bands out with their websites. They actually looked awful, I wasn’t very good at it. His most successful band was One Way Letter. They were on Negative Progression Records, recorded a full-length LP and toured the nation a few times!

Mark is also the Co-Owner of MonsterLab, our Web/Graphic Design company. He’s currently in school at the Creative Circus for Graphic Design and loves it so much that he made his own profile picture for this website!

Matt Bankston
Matt and I have known each other for a long time, but didn’t really become close friends until a few years ago. A few of my previous bands recorded vocals at his studio Energy Sound and that’s where this project is being recorded right now! I owe him so much for allowing me to record this project at his studio, it’s unbelievable and I’m very thankful for it.

Matt played drums in my old band Red Sea Divison and is also the drummer for my current band Like Thieves. If you are in a band or a singer/songwriter and you’re looking for a great place to record please contact Matt, he’ll do an amazing job.

Trey & Friends!
Trey Rogers and I met a while ago through a mutual friend, Danny Moore. My first memory of Trey was when he drove his extremely large truck to my parents house with Danny to pick up my bass gear. His truck had a PA system in it with a very loud external speaker. Danny was yelling, “GEORGE!” over and over as they drove down the street in my neighborhood. This was the beginning of the band Rocky Branch and the start of an amazing friendship.

Trey is currently residing in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he’s heavily involved with YWAM.
